I have had an old thermostat in my car for a couple months, it came with the performer/waterneck I recently put on the car. The car would run at like 200-215.* My oil pressure has been almost 0lbs at 600 rpm in gear (I have been keeping idle at like 1000 to keep it at 10 lbs), hot, and like 55lbs max hot. WIth the new, cooler thermostat, the car sticks at 160*, and my new hot 600 rpm-idle oil pressure is at 13lbs. Couple variables: I have a cheapo autometer gauge, super long plastic tube (did not cut any off the piece that came with the kit), going off of the front/right/bottom of block. Everyone knows oil gets thinner & pressure drops with heat, but I did not expect idle pressure to jump this much. Someone might find this useful.
Sounds possible to me. You may want to consider rebuilding the pump with a plate and a regulater if it is that low. 10Lbs. per. thousand RPM is the healthy min. but better can't hurt. Kevin
Copper line kit John, I have a complete copper line in my shop. In fact I think I may have two. Your welcome to one of them. Icehouse up front of course. Len
Brews are coming, line or not. Of course I'll drink half of them, I need to maintain my hourglass figure.
