    Great Benches..........
Want a Durable , Easy to clean work bench ?
Section of Counter Top ; available from local Building Supply .
My 12' White Counter Top w/ Splash Back and rolled front edge was $70.00
Build Frame From 2x and 4x lumber w shelves if wanted . These Bench Tops are TOOO COOL ! I've got about $100.00 into it . You can also get these counters with a Rt/Lft. 45* cut and get shorter sections to get a bench to wrap around to the other wall .

    Suggestion :
For a good working height bench . Stand with your elbow bent @ 90* measure distance to floor , subtract 2" build frame and install counter top with 1" angle brackets underneath and get to work .
These benches work fantastic (parts can't roll off back or front) easy to see stuff with the white color, NO Splinters, Clean Easy .

I have found great deals on tops at cabinet builders. They usually have a bunch of mis-cuts or ugly stuff for peanuts.

I think I paid $12.00 for the last piece I bought.

HOBO (Home Owners Bargain Outlet) has counter tops for not much money at all. I'd be weary to get a counter unless i have another one with wood. Almost be afraid to get it dirty, scratch or chip it.

Steve, that looks nice. Make me consider having part of my workbench with a counter top. Thanks. :TU:

The counter tops are pretty tough . Heavy Items ie. heads etc. will scratch them . Just and Idea ; get a piece of plywood to under your parts . These benchtops clean up Real Easy , If needed ,even Laquer Thinner won't etch them ! And they look Great !

My Buick Powered Stump Puller is in the final stages of planning .
I'll be using a 73' Lesabre Chassis ,sectioned 24" , Bob Tailed rear frame
with copious amounts of bracing and a 4"x4" 3/16" walled Box Tubing Bumper filled with sand to keep the rear end hunkered down a bit . I want 2" Sand Paddle Tires to play in the mud with but haven't found a source yet .
It'll have expanded metal flooring , bucket seats tilted 15-20* to compensate for the G-Forces , Keg gas tank , lotsa lights , roll cage , tilt column ,straight pipes , and,, and ,, TWINS !!!!! :Dou:

Gotta have something indestructable in my shop........ a 3'x6' 1/4" sheet of steel on top of a steel work bench! Bang on it, jump on it, heck..... set an engine on it! It's also nice when you have to weld something and can just clamp the ground on the edge of the bench!

    Bench Madness

That IS the ultimate bench :bglasses: I may make a smaller one for welding jobs , mixing paint etc . Since this is a 24x24 I'm running out of wall space .
I guess it's time to add on a work room ! Not for awhile . Next big job will be a cement pad / awning out the main door . I'd liketo build a pad that would allow a lift . :TU:

he found a scrap of 2x8" laminated boards 32" deep. and about 8 ft long. we have another that is 2x6" laminated boards 32" deep and about 12' long :Brow:
we have them lying flat with 4x4's for legs
you could build ANYTHING on these. and they need no center support.

Best bench for the money.......go to any local used restaurant equipment store. You can get some very, very nice stainless steel tables that are great!
I used to have a restaurant and you would not believe the price difference between a new table and a used one. You know the failure rate of restaurants is high so you can get some great deals on stainless equipment!
