Ok here's the shifter parts, Sorry about the blurry pix not sure why I couldn't get a good picture but you can see where it's broke.
Jarrod. The body side protector moldings are different between 70 and 71/72. The rubber insert in the 70 is much flatter and has a grain to it. Those look to be 71/72 which the rubber is more square and pronounced. Just FYI
