OK... The pig is alive!!!! But, a couple of issues... It runs and the MSD, Dave's dist, and John Osbourn Carb all work flawlessly, so far. But the timing marks do not show up on the balancer, Im assuming Im 180 out, cause it runs decent.

Next, I primed the erl pump last night and heard the oil squishing around in the block and had it comming out of the rocker shafts. I did not prime it tonight, could a pump loose its prime??? My erl pressure gauge in the cockpit does not register any pressure. But im not sure how the TA adjustable regulator works (dork)... I adjusted it, ran the allen screw down, about 6 turns and still no pressure. So Now what???? Im sooooo confused:puzzled: :Dou: :Do No:

Dont run it anymore!!!! No oil pressure will ruin your motor FAST. Maybe your distributor is not pushed all the way in and not engaged in the pump shaft........if you see a space under the base of the dist. housing, that's likely your problem.

I'm only knowlegeable with factory ignition, but if you can't see your timing mark and it runs, maybe you are on the wrong plug wire. If it was 180 off, it would not run. Good luck, hope my advice helps you. :bglasses:

    Mike,
Do you have an aftermarket oil pressure gauge? Are you sure it is working? Sometimes the distributor will pop up, like Joe suggested, and the oil pump will no longer turn. DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE LIKE THIS. Once the pump is primed, it usually won't lose that prime. If the motor was running, with oil pressure, why prime it? Also the motor will not run 180* out of time. What kind of timing light are you using. If it is a dial back, make sure the dial is at 0.
