I juts talked with the owner of the local NAPA store. He told me a friend of his just bought a local junk yard that has been closed for some time. The lot has @400 cars on it, and I was told that there are many many Buicks!!!! The new owner plans on CRUSHING all or most of the cas to pay for the yard :eek2: The NAPA store owner is going there Saturday to see exactly what is there. I asked him to let me know if there are and Buicks with salvagable parts. Maybe we can work something out. Dan :3gears:
I am interested in that yard and live in New York so if the NAPA guy's are interested in selling anything let me know. Peter
I am half way between Binghamton and Oneonta, right off Rt 88. the yard is somewhere near Oxford, NY. I'm not sure exactly where, but will find out. Hopefully , if there is anything good there, we can convince him to sell it rather than crush it. I'll let you know what I find out. It will probably be next week before I hear what is in the yard. Maybe another ultra rare GS with the factory 3 speed tranny :Brow: Dan :3gears:
Unfortunately, there's still the "Crusher" yards to try to make a profit from "old" cars, even though they may be VALUABLE old cars! :af: :ball: o No: I just found out that we have one, locally, that's government owned, and just before they crushed a '71 Skylark (what USED to be a '71 Skylark, anyway), I was able to SAVE a set of Buick Mags for a whole $18! :bglasses: I got 3 out of 4, because someone decided to make a "jackstand" out of one, by WELDING it to another "junk" wheel. :af: :spank: :blast: Like I really needed an "8th" set of "spare" Buick Mags, but, for $18... ou: o No: :TU: Save what you can! :Smarty: :TU:
Dan - That's not Maynard's is it?? They're just off Rt. 12 near Oxford. He's got a ton of older cars there.....sure hope that's not the yard. At first, I thought you were referring to Russ Hendrickson's yard there in Harpursville.....since he owns a NAPA there (maybe a former NAPA).
