I am very interested in a car in Billings, Montana, I am in Castaic, CA (North of L.A.). Anyone doing a trek similar to this, or a portion of it with a trailer? I am can scrape the $$ together for the car, but after that I am tight. I checked one place, they said $1701.00 (ouch, my keester). Don't forget that gas is incredibly cheap right now. Anyone need to take this trip but has no vehicle to drive (I'd probably have to put an age limit on that one)? If ya got any ideas, let me know. thanx
Does the car run? I have a sister somewhat close in Wyoming where maybe you could park the car there for a while. I probably won't be going up that way until July.

something i have contemplated in situations like this is just taking the bus to where the car is and renting a car hauler or tow dolly from U-haul, ryder or such. still kinda spendy, but no where near as bad as driving both ways yourself. you can get prices on bus ticket, tow rental, and even road reports for gas prices on line.
Mostly, I was thinking it might buy you some more time. I have an aunt in Billings, but don't know how much parking space she has. If the car is a driver, we might could get it to Phoenix or SLC too.
