Mixed up some lifters... new ones required?

I have my motor apart right now. During the disassembly process, I accidently mixed a few lifters up from the 4 & 6 cylinders. The other 6 cylinders I kept track of, I just had a little "mix up" with those lifters and now I'm not sure which ones go where.

Do I need 4 new lifters? I'm just gonna put everything back together exactly the way it was, but I'm not certain if possibly moving a few lifters around might cause me problems.

I *think* that since the cam is broken in, the lifter placement is not as important now, but I just wanted to make sure.

(On another note, I haven't had any problems with my existing lifters that I'm aware of, what is the advantage of the new lifters from TA? Could I have another problem and not be aware of it? I don't have any ticking or anything.)

    Thanks!

You must either use new lifters or put the exact lifter back on each lobe it came off of. You don't want to put #3 intake back in the #5 exhaust location. And so on.

Will it matter? Chances are ... yes.

What about the cam? Even with new lifters don't you run a chance of wiping the lobe?

    John,

'm pretty sure you can put new lifters on an old cam, but can't put old lifters on a new cam.

I didn't know if you could put old lifters on an old cam, and apparently the answer is "no"!

    Thanks,
