I recieved a call after work today from a long time Buick friend, and was told his Dad had passed away this morning, His father was a good friend of mine as well as many others, Dick Brouwer passed this morning, his son Rich (coin operated race car) called to tell me the news. these two guys were allways there in the thick of things, running that big bad Buick, Dick allways the cheerleader for his son, and a great man to share a story or two over a cold beer! Dick was a good man who was quick to offer someone a hand or help out when needed whatever the case, Rich and his father were not on the computer or much cared to be. Those of you that knew Dick Brouwer, will remember him as a good man, fun to be around, and a good father and a great friend that will be missed. Gods speed Dick Brouwer! and To my friend Rich B, god bless, were thinking of you Pal. Bruce
Sorry to hear about the passing of your friend, Bruce. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. Hang in there.
Sounds like a real great guy . Sorry to hear of his passing . Our prayers will include Dick and his family and friends . Keep the faith guys and gals !
Hey all I just spoke w/ Rich.....I passed on the condolences. You never wanna lose someone,There was no warning signs and it seems he went peacefully in his sleep. Unfortunately he was only 59 yrs young...... He was a great guy....I will miss him as well
I heard about this from Mike Tomaszewski this afternoon.. I just had the opportunity to meet Rich and his dad over a couple brews at Norwalk this past spring. He will be missed by all, and pass on my sympathies to Rich and family. JW
Bruce, Thank you for passing this on to the Buick community. This is especially painfull because Rich and Dick were like my father and I.... BEST OF FRIENDS! Rich... my prayers are with you and your family. For those who didn't know Dick Brouwer.... Its truly your loss. He knew how to have fun and would be the first person there offering up a cold one.
Well said John Z. when I think of Rich and his father, I also think of the "magical friendship" you have with yours as well. there is a time when your parents are your "parents", but as we grow to adulthood there is nothing better than having them as your best friend! I call or see my folks every few days, and enjoy them to the fullest while I have them. Bruce
