only did 2 runs track was down with a oil leak didn't feel like waiting around. was very happy with a run of 12.618@106.35 mph 60 ft was 1.837. wanted more mph but.... only gained 20 mph from 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile most guys pick up 22 mph. happen to just get off phone with Tom T. and was telling him about pulling after 1/2 track. Tom said maybe more exhaust duration, only have a 5 degree spread between intake and exhaust. that makes sense. first gear pulls great just need a little more in high gear. car has 3.23 gears and a 2-speed. here is the time slip i think i posted it right.

Congratulations on good pass. Not bad for a 2 speed and 3.23 gears. Anything else you could of tried before shut down the track? Once again way to go

Very cool Joe! Didn't happen to weigh the car did you? I'm shooting for high 13's out of my car next year. Almost done with the nitrous install, and have a full bottle itching to be used!

Nice job, Joe! That oil-down shouldn't have taken over an hour to rectify - it was a 2008 Vette that was chattering the tires very badly on the launch and then it ran over the differential. The big pieces were only about 20 or 30 feet from where we were standing, and the car stopped only about 100 feet past the 60' beams.

You didn't miss much - the tree was malfunctioning, the starter was a young lad with no experience and I made my 3rd pass @ 3PM...

Not a good day for me - was hoping 10's in the convertible but could only manage an 11.26 @ 120, with a 1.78 short time due to an untimely bog. Besides the tree malfunctioning on run #1, my top pulled out of the front bow on run #2. We tried unsuccessfully to repair it and on run #3, I tightened the Qjet secondary air valve a bit, but we had to wait a minute for the track to be checked at the big end for possible oil and both me and the other guy already did our burn outs, and the idiot behind me wouldn't let me back into the water despite the track person telling him to back up. Didn't get a good second burnout, and didn't launch good and the top pulled out again, so we called it a day.

thanks guys. wow that track is getting bad. that is a nice a nice car you have there, you will get the bugs out. plus must have been getting pretty hot there by the time you raced. theres one more test and tune late oct. i bet you get in the 10s then. Andy, it came in at 3850 one time with a little over a half tank of gas, had over 3/4 this time.

Bob, i turned the converter off after take off. wanted to leave it on all the way in high stall. i know ken bell said to turn it off and Andy did better with it off, but for some reason it seems to run stronger with it on. on the way home was playing with the stall too and felt better with it on. seems crazy but...

With the 3.23's maybe it will like the converter left in high stall? Only one way to know. How about leaving the air cleaner off? DA was about 2000, which wasn't the best considering the track is at 400' and it was Sept 27th. No one ever claims that fast times are set at ESTA, like Cecil lol!

Weather depending, we are going on October 26th.

With me, on back to back runs I lost 1.5-2 tenths running in high stall, staging and launching the same. I finally settled in on switching back to low stall around 3500-4000rpms before shifting to 2nd. Any sooner, and it seemed to bog slightly from the transition.

I will say I agree with you though. I always feel like it runs stronger keeping it in high stall, but at least in my case the time slips don't lie.

Accord to this chart 7.53 in the 1/8 mile should be in the high 11s in the 1/4, you're correct the car is laying down in high gear.

Another thing to consider Joe is fuel starvation. What are you running for fuel/system??? Remember that inertia is trying to FORCE the fuel back to the tank. I've known guys that have picked up 2-3 tenths & MPH when the fuel system was upgraded.

Just wondering Joe, did it seem to run out of power in 1st gear when you wound it out? what rpm and mph and how far down the track do you shift into high? Als what rpm at the traps? I remember You telling me a punch at 50 mph to low gear and it burn rubber for awhile.

    Andy,
I have always read that running it in high stall the whole way down the track results in lower trap speeds. I have the Bruce Roe box controlling my SP. For most of my runs, I have it in high stall for about 3 seconds on launch, and then it switches to low stall for the balance of the pass. See my time slips below. On run #5, I wired it to stay in high stall. It turned out to be my best ET, but it dropped my MPH, not by much though, less than 1 MPH. It really made not much of a difference at all, but I thought I would try it.

I know Joe will chime back in, but I believe he said it just felt flat and wouldn't rev any more on from the 1/8th mile on. IIRC, it was crossing the line at 4400 and it didn't make much of a difference if he upped the shift points. Pretty impressive performance none the less and the car is a real head turner in person!

no first gear pulls great to 5800 rpms. i shift at 5400 rpms out of first and thats about 75 mph. am at about 4700 rpms at the traps.

thanks Bob, i did the math again and looked at the tach it was like 4650-4700.now that i think of it on the fuel part i do have a air fuel ratio gauge it would read as lean as 12.7 at peak tq in first gear, then in high gear it would keep on riching up all the way to 11.7 as i stay into it. your right didnt matter on the up shifts. it will go into high gear and keep pulling but then flatten out.

Where's your total timing at and when is it all in by?

32-33 total timing all in by 2600 rpms
