Look up the production numbers on a hemi cuda convertable... the million won't look to outrageous if I remember correctly...
It's those magic 4 letters which seem to drive Mopar fanatics into such a frenzy "HEMI" means megadollars for Cuda's. There were only about 13 Hemi Cuda converts built for 1970, less for 1971. I have the breakdown of automatic and 4 speeds for 70 somewhere, I do know that in 71, there were 5- automatics and 2- 4 speed HemiCudas built for the US, plus 2 more of unknown breakdown, for export. Sometime in late 2002 or early 2003, a blue 71 HemiCuda 4 speed convert sold for $1,000,000. Apparently, it was on E-Bay with a $1,300,000 reserve. it's 1971, and there is a Lemon Twist with billboards here in Prior Lake MN for sale for 450,000. The guy has about 30-40 cuda's all Super nice, plus a bunch of vipers and superbirds, daytona's and challengers.
Some of the pricing WILL be influenced by Craig Jackson, and his TV Show. He personally has 1 of the export cars, a Plum Crazy Convertible with a "Warranty" engine, & Found the original engine in England, in the Shipping crate to be returned. He also has the FULL documentation. I believe he stated, that "These cars are EXPECTED to go into the 7 figure area". That was a prediction, BUT it is up to the MARKET to dictate that, NOT just 1 Person. I have been Privilaged to information, and CAN state that the GS cars ARE on the rise, and the figures WILL be seen over the NEXT few months in Publication. The WELL Documented, "Elite" GS cars are JUMPING, this WILL bring up the Not so nice ones as well, but NOT by the same percentages, BUT YOU WILL SEE THE RISE.
