might a bad balancer cause rear main seal leak?

70sgeek drive it like a rental.

I've replaced the rear main 2x now, both with TA neoprene and in each case, the motor began to leak again after approximately 300 miles. So recently I changed out my balancer (which I now believe was bad anyway due to a lower speed front end wobble which I first thought was a bad wheel balance but seems to have since disappeared).

Is it possible if the balancer was bad, there could have excessive crank vibration against the seal which would have caused its failure?

its possible . but I would check flexplate/torque convertor for out of round, out of balance as that's closer to it. when you changed seal did you jack engine at all by balancer as crank could have warped from weight on it. what seal are you using? are you bottoming the side seals well?is your pcv system working correctly?
