My son and I are planning on being there Fri and Sat. We're bringing the van tho so we'll have plenty of room to haul home parts. lol
Does anyone know about this site? They seem to list events for free?! http://www.oldride.com/events/indiana_carshow.html
I just might go to this one. It sounds like fun? Now I just need to: 1. Book a flight 2. Reserve a room 3. Find transportation 4. Bring enough money to eat out every night at fancy restaurants.
Bill, Thanks for posting that info, not sure if it would be the right place to post our event since it's not just a car show, it's mainly a race event. Thanks again & hope to see you at the MWBC. Beth P.S. Tim... I'm calling BS on you...:bla:
This just in from someone who lives near there: Camping If anyone is interested in camping near the track. There is a RV dealer down the road from the track. The company is called Hart City RV or hartcityrv.com. The address is 2311 S. Nappanee St, Elkhart, Indiana 46517. The phone number is 574-295-5793. Price is $25.00 per night. They don't have any trees but do have full hookups. It is not much of a campground but it is close to the track. It is also close to resturaunts. They also have their own security on site. There is plenty of room for parking also. It would more for Motor Homes and RV's. Just thought I would throw it out there. I will see you at the track. Jason
Hmmm....... Well, maybe about the time the cruise starts on Friday night, Turbo Dave and I might just roll in, at least that's the tenative plan. :3gears: :3gears: :beers2: :beers2: :TU:
Hi All, New guy here with a 70 gsx vert tribute. I was thinking about driving to the event on Saturday for the day. I have never been to this event before, is it just racing or is there a swap meet, other things? Any information would be great. Thanks
Hi! Sounds like an awesome car - I hope you can have some fun with it! Our full event schedule is here: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=132754 As for a swap meet, there is nothing formal planned - we offered free swap and vending spaces so we have to see who shows up. I've heard of some guys swapping out of the back of their trucks - it could prove interesting. There is also a car show on Saturday. So come on out! Thanks, Shari
Hi Shari, Thank you for the info. I noticed you are part of the GSCA Chicagoland Chapter. I paln to join the group ASAP. Being a new Buick car guy, I am also looking for an honest and good mechanic in the Chicago area who is interested in working on these cars. Any suggestions? Thanks so much for the help!
Check here http://www.chicagolandbuick.org/partners/vendors.html and look for the ad for Precision Engine and Machine. Rick does excellent work! There's a place on that board, too, to join. :Brow: Hope to see you at something, Shari
Hi all, I'll be joining in on the festivities on Fri. nite & Saturday. I've never been to this event B4, and have never had the car on a track without stoplights,:Brow: but plan on taking it down the strip. Can anyone give me an idea of whats required for the car & I to be allowed to race? I dont think the car will go faster than low - mid 14's. Thanks, Rob
The only requirement that I can think of is seat belts, but it is always wise to wear a helmet just in case anything goes crazy. Better safe than sorry. Have fun!
1st... Woo-Hoo Berta's going. :3gears: :beers2: 2nd... Hi Rob, Hope some of this info helps ya. Make sure you have a SA2005 helmet - if not I'm sure someone at the event will either have an extra one or will let you borrow theirs for a run or 2. Some will say since you're running mid 14's you won't need a helmet, but I am a firm believer that if you're going to racing you should be wearing a brain bucket. :Smarty: Make sure your battery is strapped in well. Make sure your coolant overflow is in operational condition. Make sure your tires are in good condition. Shorts and tank tops are not allowed while you race, therefore at the very least bring a short or long sleeved shirt and long pants with you. Make sure your seatbelt is fully functional. NO LEAKS, such as oil or antifreeze. If you have hubcaps... remove them. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. :TU: Beth
Beth, Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it! My car does not have a coolant overflow tank, I dont think '67s came with them. Is this a problem? Rob
