Well I finally received my Mickey Thompson Drag Radials today. Sad part is my weekend is booked and I'm not sure when I'll get to try them!

They are definately SOFT ! !

Hopefully get to try them out June 13th at our local track. I also installed a new 9.5" converter so if the tires hook, we should be looking at a new low e.t. on Drag Radials. (Need to beat 10.36)

Here's a pic of the tires:

    Re: drag radials

I think they were $319 for the pair. (Didn't receive my receipt yet as mine were drop shipped direct from Mickey Thompson) Ordered through Jegs. I think anyone trying to buy a pair right now may be in for a wait. Jegs is back ordered because of the long list of people wanting them. The supply and demand law may be in affect for a bit. I definately think they'll out perform the BFG's and the nittos though. (May not last as long though)

I'll definately post my results as soon as I can get out to the strip.

275/60's is what I ordered also. They're receiving 130 pair this week so maybe your's will show later this week !

    Keep you fingers crossed !

You could call them and they should be able to tell you if they're filling your order with this batch. I was the 1st guy on there list so I knew I was getting some. Sounds like the list is long though.

Good luck, hope you get yours!

Post your results when you try em !

    Todd,

The new pics of the car look great, damn that car is nice!!!

I never did get to see a copy of the GS Extra article, any chance it is posted somewhere on the net?

I'm not proud...I'm going to copy your whole combo if I get the chance...only difference is mine will be red! :)

Del, I don't know if a copy ever got posted here on the board but if not there is a pretty good spec sheet on my car posted on my website. Just Click here

As for the Mickey Thompson Tires, they definately work better than the BF's. I finally got to try them this weekend at the track but the 1st run I made I must have wore a lobe off the cam. Got back to the pits and it was missing pretty bad. After removing the valve covers we noticed one rocker with a lot of play in it. So needless to say that was the end of my day. The car did run a 10.87 which wasn't what I was hoping for but it was hot, humid and down on power a bit. The tires hooked perfect even though I didn't hardly do any burnout. (M/T says they just need to be "Hazed" so thats what I did for my 1st run) I did get to drive the car a little bit on the street the last couple of weeks and all I can say is these new tires will be setting a new standard for street cars as well as drag cars! THEY HOOK ! ! ! ! Even on the street they hook to the point where I don't have to short shift 1st gear. Anyone with a powerfull motor knows thats pretty hard to do in a street car on the street. (Usually 1st gear is just a 1 or 2 second blast and then you're shifting into 2nd to salvage the tires.)

I'll be ordering a new cam and lifters today and hopefully have her back together soon. I wish I had more results to share with you guys but luck was not on my side this weekend. I guarantee anyone running BF's will improve there times with the M/T's though! One other note, these M/Ts do not pick up the rocks like the BF's do. My BF's would always have rocks stuck to them at the end of a cruise, not the M/T's. (This saves on 1/4 panel paint a bit also)

Thanks for posting your results. Sorry for the bad luck this weekend with the car.
From what you described though, that looks like the way we will head for tires.

    Thanks again

Well Todd...you just had to post that didnt you :) I think you just gave Denny a reason to spend more money.

I've always loved the BFG Drag Radials and if these new M/T hook better......it's money well spent (specially since they are going on MY car) I just hope that M/T can keep up with the orders. I'm an instant gratifaction type person and hate to wait for anything plus my Drag Radials are starting to look like slicks :)

Hope you get your car running and back to the track soon :)
