Who are those of you in the Twin Cities using for metal stripping? I need to get a core support dipped or blasted. The place I was using has changed owners, and the price to do this for a core support quadrupled from the last time I had this done.

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

You want to get it blasted not dipped. Dipping causes all kinds of problems and you don't want to hear the horror stories about it!

    George,
I think blasting is my only alternative, I don't think there is another dip tank anywhere around here. I had this particular shop dip many parts, although never any external sheet metal or complete bodies. I never had a problem with anything I ever had done.

    Mark,
If you don't mind shipping your part to Milwaukee there is a place called "Restoration Specialists" that will acid dip and even eCoat your core if you'd like.

    Their number is 414-529-1515.

I had a 68 442 convertible frame done there along with my front a-arms and crossmemeber and it was $800 for the frame and $200 for the rest. Remember this was to have it all ecoated as well. To just Acid dip the frame it was only going to be $300.
The frame on this car turned out beautiful. If I ever do anything like a frame off again I'm just sending as much as possible there. They will dip entire body shells as well.
They quote by job and the more you have the better the deal.

    Steve,
Thanks for the info, thats good to know. I'm going to keep that number in my file. I was discussing this with the painter doing my car, and it sounds like he is leaning towards media blasting, and then spraying POR-15 black.
