I am putting a 67 GS400 radiator into my 64 skylark and need the metal brackets and the rubber mounts for the top and bottom. I have a 65 lower core support but the ones off that are to small and rusted. Can you buy the rubber mounts new some where?
Hi Ed, I'm going through the same thing, for the bottom mounting cups I took the top rad hold down plate off a 71 Centurion and cut the cups out of it, ground them up nice flipped them over and welded them into the bottom of the 64's core support. Then I took the rubber pieces trimmed off the length drilled through new holes for the rubber nibs and took a utility knife and made the groove in the rubber longer to suit an Aluminum rad. My core still need to be sand blasted and painted, I'm just going to order a fan shroud from Year One and try and find a 65 1/2 to 67 cross flow upper hold down pate. Thanks Bruce
I found some 65 ones but they are for a small radiator. I could cut them to open them up but if I find the correct ones I would buy them. My core support is already blasted and painted. I had a 65 lower rad welded to my 64 but I think they messed up the opening. I tried to put the 64 center piece that holds the grill and hood latch in and its to close together. Can you measure the distance from the bottom of your core support where the hood latch mounts to the hole where the bottom of the center piece mounts. That would help me alot. Thanks
Hi Ed, Yes I can measure that tonight. I think I can modify the 64 lower shroud mounts to work, and I might be able to modify the top 64 rad holder also. Bruce
Hi Ed, From the underside of the upper rad cradle rail to the center line of the slot in the lower rad cradel rail is 17" hope this helps. I can take pictures of where the measurement is taken from if I'm not clear.
