Well ran the lines got the fuel sender figured out and then I broke the tip on the in tank fuel pump so crap I'm bummed now to figure out were is the best place to get this walbro fuel pump.
Well tomorrow I'll wire up everything and install radiator.
This way when I figure out what pump I need that's all I gotta do.

Wish I was wrenching on the car this weekend but have to close everyday. Finally getting a day off tomorrow after 13 days straight.

No wrenching but did empty out the garage for a floor repaint. Full on epoxy this time around and at $36 a gallon it better be good!

Had to move the vehicles but left the dailies at home and went for a spin in the Electra. Sweet!

I'm a vet and both my parents are also.

This morning I spent some time remembering those I served with who didn't make it home,

I did finish up the rear end on my Skylark after that (posi, 3.42 gears, boxed control arms, sway bar, brakes) and took it out for a spin. Brakes are a little mushy but they were like that before all the other work. I did leave two black streaks in the cul de sac in front of my house.

Got the interior all put in, 300 miles of test drives the last 2 days, then all the sudden today "hey, what the he!! is that vibration?!?!" Thought I chucked the engine at first, but got smooth on acceleration and under braking so I figured wheel or driveshaft. Limped into a little parking area. Two studs broke, other 3 loose. Had my buddy come out 20 miles with a jack and some finer tools. New studs popped in, new lug nuts, and away we go. Roadside repairs make the best stories.....

Did you forget to tighten them down or was there another issue that caused this. Just asking because of the aftermarket wheels.

They are longer lug studs for the wheels. I tightened them to 100 ft lbs. Rechecked at 50 miles, didn't recheck again. It was weird because I was telling myself as I drove "You should probably pull over and recheck those lugs at that campground." And about 1/2 mile away i heard what I know now to be the lug nuts and studs breaking off then the vibration happened. I figure 3 loosened up and 2 of them couldn't take it alone. I've got 5000 miles or so with the set up, no issues last year. Just should've retorqued them one more time. My fault.....but fixed in 15 minutes. Other wheels were tight except one lug nut in the other rear wheel took about 3/4 turn.

I work at your competition, Oreilly auto parts. With only 4 people who can open and close the store. One on vacation and one other who had an accident on his other job. ( hit in the face with a 40# log) So it is just me and the store manager. He opens and I close. I do however I have tomorrow off. then close w,t,f off for car show Sat.

Note to self. Retorque wheels before next drive. Glad it wasn't worse than it was.

Thanks, now I just have about $3k worth of interior to do, and prob $1500 worth of rechromed bumpers, a $400 grill, and all the extra little finishing items. Ought to have close to twice what its worth into it by the time I'm done,Lol.

Worked (if that's what it's called) on this, on Memorial day. Installed a nice ELF 3 gun competition adjustable trigger. Will try it out tomorrow.
