Rhett, if you don't want to completely remove the front sway bar, those things are heavy, use longer links. This will let the bar still work as intended but won't limit the upward lift as much as with the shorter links.

Even heavier because I put a 1.25 bar in it... corners flat though!

I've got about 3 inches of link shaft between washer/bushing stacks. looks like I could go another 2-3...

Does anyone know what application to ask for to get that additional length? I checked all my other cars and they seem to be the same shaft length..

Take an old one with you & go to the parts store & start opening, carefully, boxes. You may be able to go 2" or so but I don't think 3".

I WOULDN'T use threaded rod Rhett. I don't think threaded rod & a piece of thin wall pipe will be strong enough. I would double nut the end links also. Go to an auto parts store you are a regular at & hopefully they will let you open boxes to see what may be available for your application. Just take one complete set-up from your car for comparison purposes.

Musclepalooza was a blast. Hot girls, cars and weather. What more can you ask for.Well nothing shocked me more when hemmings picked my 87 tt GN as favorite Buick. There were a lot of nice Buicks there. Ken Melett congrats to you for also being picked. Hope to see more Buicks there in September. Again thank you Hemmings for picking my car as Favorite Buick.

If it's anything as nice as yours, thats a screaming deal...I was a GM tech at a Buick dealership from 82-87, and man do I love those cars. T-Types too. It's so stupid, but I'd pay good money for a 83-84 Skylark T-Type with a stick....

We also sold at least 2 GNX's.... they wouldnt let anyone near them, we didnt even dealer prep them - they went from carrier to a private flatbed, and we never saw them again...

    For those who are interested:

In response to Tom Telasco's suggestion to go with longer sway bar links to allow the front end to come up, I went down to my local NAPA and opened boxes until I found what I was looking for: a link with 4.5 inches between bushing stacks, as opposed to the stock 3 inches. The NAPA part number is 265-1277, the application is 92 Chevrolet K1500 4x4.

I'll put them in tonight and let you know how the clearance is, or if I have to modify.

Going back to Lebanon Valley for Buick Day this weekend if the weather holds out.. replaced the rear shocks, longer sway bar links, added aluminum G-Body rear drums. Hopefully I get better weight transfer and can launch at a higher RPM...I'll let you know Sunday
