I am changing the master cylinder on my GS, it is a power drum brake master cylinder with the bleeder screws. I know that I have to bench bleed it before installing it but is it better to attach tubes to the brake line connections and bleed it back into the reservoir than use the bleeder screws? If I use the bleeder screws should I just plug the brake line holes?

Anyone that has a step by step procedure would be great.

i would leave the bleeder screws in and and attach the tubes to the brake line connections. i use a larger robertson headed screwdriver to push the cylinder ram in and out on the cylinder sleeve. takes time & patience. donot clamp your vice onto any area that surrounds the actual cylinder/sleeve area. i can/will distort the sleeve.

I just got a new drum/drum MS from NAPA and the bleeding instructions are all new.

It came with two plastic plugs for the brake lines and no bleeder screws. The instructions said fill both sides with fluid to just SLOWLY push the plunger about an inch or so until bubbles stop rising in the cylinder. Only push once every 15-20 seconds until done.

It's on the car now and all works perfect.
