Has anyone track or dyno tested the TA SP1 vs the new SPX/Coolrunner intake on the Aluminum heads to see if what and how much difference there is? Looking to upgrade.

I would like to know the numbers on that too.....I might get the spx just because it looks cooler....But a little housepower would help too.

Give me a week or two and I'll let you know........
I just changed from an SP1 to a Wildcat on my car.
Looking for a good baseline on the WIldcat,Then I will make back to back runs with each manifold.
There is always plenty of time between runs at Norwalk....
Maybe next weekend,So I can go to BGwith the faster of the two.

Let us know Gary. I, too, am very interested in your findings.

OK Guys.......I agree the Wildcat looks better.

Yesterday I found the Wildcat to be a little bit better,Only a few hundreths.
If you were starting fresh and had to choose,I would say the Wildcat is the way to go.
Knowing what I know now,I wouldn't reccomend replacing an SP1 with a Wildcat.
Just not enough to justify the change.

Thanks for the feedback Gary. Were both manifolds stock or ported? Did you happen to utilize the water under the plenum option in your testing? That is the feature that I would find quite useful.

    Gary,
Was the SP-1 you were running a new or old design? And the SP-X is it TA or the K-B wildcat. The SP-1 was updated last year, more runner volume, raised plenum floor, more/balanced air flow. Much better than the old design. The SP-X has also been updated and re-released this year. Apple to apple comparison would be cool, is that what was done. Interested.

Both Manifolds were original designs.......I bought the SP1 from you 10 years ago....Hard to believe it's been out that long.

Both manifolds were ported to match my heads....The plenum on the SP1 is HUGE......It was prepared by Sunset Machine a few years back.

I wish there was more to report for a difference but it was marginal on my Car.....And this on the same night I went to the Final Rd. 3 time trials and 6 rounds

I have not tried the water under the plenum on the Wildcat however....

At this point I don't know which to use.....I haven't reached a good enough conclusion in my mind.
