will it work for a couple weeks at least? i blew out the damn thing on the driver's side AGAIN, but no one locally sells header gaskets and i'm planning on tearing open the top end in a few weeks, anyway. just wondering if anyone's ever done this in a pinch before and can tell me whether it works or not.

I use them on my GS. they last really well. I don't put too many miles on my car but the last set lasted all summer. They are easier to get than header gaskets, cheaper too!

    gaskets

if your headers mate flush with the manifold exhaust ports, before u install the gaskets, & and the stud holes line up, and if u use quality gaskets, they should last a long time . u must be prepared to re-torque the manifold bolts frequently regularly .

    they work

On my 455 Regal I've taken 2 set and sandwiched them with high temp sealant and haven't had a leak in 3 yrs.The one thing to do is gasket match them to the heads/headers because they are slightly smaller.
I will never use header gaskets again. They work out that good for me.

Ditto, ditto, ditto.....been using them for years now. Even if you have a blowout (which I've never had with them) they are really easy to change.

I only use one unlike Dave but I goop 'em with red silicone and watch the bolts like a hawk for about a month or longer. Even years later I still check those bolts every few months.
