I had a pesky leak from somewhere under my windshield when I first bought my 71. Heres how I fixed it. First thing I would do is to pull the carpets. Theyll dry alot faster outside in the sun and it will be easier to see where the stream of water is coming from without them installed. Get in the car with a flashlight and have someone spray water on the winshield area. See if you can pinpoint the leak from under the dash. In my case, it was a body seam under the windshield that was never sealed properly from the factory. Once you determined where its coming from, go to an auto body supply house and get some urethane seam sealer. Dont use RTV or silicone type sealers. Make sure the area is good and dry and apply sealer to both sides of the leak.

Are you talking a heater core leak that you get even when you are not in rain or just when it rains?

Good question Jim. The way i read it, I just assumed it was a water leak. It could very well be a heater core too. Kyle, is it antifreeze or water??

On mine it was the seam of the firewall - and it was in a spot that I had to remove the fenders to seal. If its the heater core it will cost more, but be easier than removing fenders.
