Ok, I feel stupid. How do you get to the springs and advance stop mechanism on this thing. Unhook the advance, take out the two torx screws for the magnetic module.... then what?

In most cases, all you need to do is remove the distributor cap and rotor. They should be staring you in the face after that. I wouldn't touch anything else. I have a PDF of the instructions for the Mallory advance curve kit. I posted it on V8 somewhere. If you want a copy, e-mail me at the address in my signature.

Guess I will have to post a picture. This thing is like a Ford distributor. There is a floor inside the distributor and all of the advance stuff has to be under this floor. I cannot find anything on Mallory's site that adresses this. Really junk directions.

OK, I think I found it. Not in any instructions for a type 57 though. After you remove the vac advance and module plate there is a set screw on the side of the distributor that allows the removal of the floor.
