I have recently purchached a 'Mallory Hyfire VIa' for a recently built 350.. Previously I used a HEI pertronix set with coil/module with no problems at all.. In my new combination I still have the 'Pertronix' 50,000 volt flamathrower coil and I have removed the module as in their instructions... For a few days, the car ran without any problems. But.. My problem now is when the car has been running for about 15-20 minnutes, it simply stops... -I have checked for spark, but there simply isn't any.. -When it's been cooled down a bit, I can start it again, very easily. -Have any of you encountered any problems before with 'Pertronix flanthrower' HEI matched with Mallory ignition box / MSD or the like???? -I have used Mallory's troubleshooting guide, but I had no luck. -can the coil be overheated?? / trashed because of the box?? -Or the ignitionbox (because of the coil??) -I have checked if the Mallory Ignition Control if it flashes when I crank the engine, and it doesn't. -I have bought a new distributor core, to rule out failure in the old connector wires (green and white), but still no flash (at the side of the box) By the way, I also changed the starter for a new one, -could this have anything to do with this mess??
