Anyone want to make their own steel GS hood? Here is a GS hood graft: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
I have 4 of them hanging out in my garage in various conditions from nice to terrible...And I have 1 more to cut out yet...
Yes I do,but they wont be concours quality, but decent driver shape. They would only be 70 or 72 though...I think I have 4-5 sets in the Buick stash attic..
Dont care about concours. Im putting it into the hood on my Riv. as long as its clean enough to be presentable and keep the large bugs out im good with it. How much?
hello, I am in the process of making a skylark gs retro clone - I purchased this panel from Ebay and am going to have it grafted into my original 72 skylark hood.. The body shop that i deal with says they will flange the metal and glue the graft in, tack welding a couple of points - they said that they don't want to weld the entire panel as it would warp the hood too much? Any body suggest the best way to do so? Anyone have experience with doing this and does it sound correct? I do all my own mechanical work but am all thumbs when it comes to body work.. Any one have measurements that they can share as to where the scoops need to be positioned? This is my first post and I absolutely appreciate all of the info that everyone takes time to share.. What an awesome site..!!!!! I hope to post some pictures of my on going project in the near future.. thanks,, Dan C.
