    Hello All,

I am collecting parts for a future engine rebuild, and I am currently looking at valve lifters. I know Mahle is the parent company to both Clevite and Perfect Circle, but is there a quality difference between the brands?

I thought they made different products, but case in point: both brands have a part 213-1646 which is the valve lifter that fits almost all Buick v-8's between '57-'69. A guy has a set of Clevite's on ebay for $99 saying they are discontinued. I am seeing sets by Perfect Circle from $49-$79.

Or, should I just go with the TA's for $79? (Does anybody know if TA actually makes them?)

    Any insights would be appreciated.

    Best Wishes,

I'd go with the TA's. the numbers you provide they are cheaper. TA doesn't make them in house but they stand behind their product and went though alot of hell to get a quality lifter as there have been a lot of problems with lifter suppliers in the last 10 yrs and they've filtered thru all the crap out there.
