I'm very proud of the man my son has turned into so far. He has taken on many things and has started a new chapter in his life at the University of Toledo this past week. It was hard moving him into the dorms but I wished him luck. The wife's not taking it to well. He's ready for college but feeling overwhelmed. Life is a roller coaster and how you handle things show your character and drive. Time flies too fast. The cost of college is crazy but we will make it work.

Congratulations go to all three of these new Eagles.

Congrats Lon .. the Boy Scout program certainly helped mold me into the man I am today. I was inches from Eagle .. the town held up approving my community service program and my time ran out. Stupid really - I was going to plant 1,000 scrub pine saplings along an erosion prone area of the dunes on Long Islands south shore (native variety to the area) .. had the plant donations lined up, heavy equipment time and manpower all set .. and tons of volunteers from our troop and others nearby - just got caught up in the bureaucratic paperwork BS.

.. and that too was a life lesson learned
