Hey out there every one,TGIF.I was wondering if any one has run into the same problem I had with my exhaust setup.Ive got a 70gsx clone that ive got some 1 7/8 M/T scavenger headers on( there probably 12 years old) and about 3 years ago I had bought a 2.5 ex system from the gsca w/dynomax mufflers and when I tried to put it together one side would not go on and line up anywhere with the header,I tried the internediate pipe every which way with every muffler position and I could not get the one side to fit. Both intemidate pipes were the same size, length, bend and everything but they would not work.I noticed that one of the exhaust pipes was not centered like the other one was.I finally sold the ex package at a swap meet.Thinking of getting a new system but need to make sure these headers are going to work for a prebent system.Any body seen this, Thanks

Sounds a little familiar....The passenger side on my 3'' system from TA had to be tweaked a little w/ the MT's.Not a big deal as this is the best combo in my opinion.
The MT's have a sound that I love and I like the way the tips are cut on the TA tailpipes.

    Bryan,
I have the MT headers, with a Dr. Gas 3" in, 2 1/2" out to a GSCA 2 1/2" system with long case Walker mufflers. The only problem I had was the MT's hitting part of the crossmember. I just notched the offending areas, no big deal. I'm not really clear on what interference you experienced. Can you be more specific? Here's a picture of my system.

Gary, how much tweaking did you have to do?Mine is also the pass side that would not fit.Of course I dont have that exhaust any more but I still have the same headers and I wanted to make sure any exhaust kit that I might buy would fit.

Larry there was no interferance problem it was that the pass side was way off from fitting (by several inches.I was trying to find out if the intermediate pipes were the same or if there was a left and right side.Mine were both bent the same.Buy the way were did you get the dr.gas set up?

    Thanks guys

    Bryan,
Sounds like you had a wrong piece in your set. I originally had a full GSCA 2 1/2" set.(wish I had pictures) I put the system on myself, and had absolutely no problems. Just had to shorten the pipes to fit the long mufflers. The Dr Gas X pipe is available from Dr. Gas. I had Rob Chilenski order the X pipe kit for me(about 230.00), and it was installed at his shop (Stage1 Performance) Rob ordered the hybrid X pipe which was 3" off the headers, and the back half of the X is 2 1/2", which mated very nicely with my GSCA system. The kit comes with the X, and header reducers, and 4 pre-bent pipes that need to be cut for your application and welded. I think Dr. Gas has a website, try www.drgas.com.

Thanks for the info Larry I will check that out.By the way when I said that it was off by inches I forgot to mention that it was side to side not length sorry about that if any one misunderstood.First mistake of the day:still got a couple more to go probably:grin:
