    Low Flow Hell

Anyone else find them self in Low Flow Hell?

More n more products are designed for these now low flow standards but they just don't work the same. Its been a year or so since I have taken a decent shower. I assumed it was cause of the dual head's that flow was down. When ya don't get enough flow to wash soap out of your eyes, its hell.

I was feed up yesterday and walked around the house naked till I found a screw driver, jammed it down the neck of the dual head unit and after several tries broke this piece lose. The pic is the same size. Just 3 tiny holes in a thick rubber plug.

If you were on fire and you hose had that plug in it. You would burn to death. I couldn't breath through them 3 holes. geese.

I must remember never to buy a new toilet. Now way my stuff with fit through 3 little holes.:Dou:

I don't see how "low flow" is supposed to help out the enviroment anyways. Any water with "stuff" in it gets cleaned out and with "lower flowing" water, it only takes longer to do the same job. Flushing 4 times to get stuff down a toilet in one of those new sub-division homes with those .5 gallon flushes is something I really don't like doing.

Yup, had the same thing happen to me. I just bought my first home and found out what low flow was all about :af:
I took mine apart and drilled as many holes as i could through it.
No more low full here :TU:

Yes I assume so. The pressure was now 50 times stronger and it was a true dual head shower.

I thought low flow was only in certain parts of the country but it has invaded normal society.

I've heard of people 'smuggling' Canadian toilets into CA.:Brow: I really hate those 1.6l toilets.:Dou:

Maybe Greg Gessler can start 'porting' shower heads and toilets.:eek2:

I'll tell you what. If you need to buy a really good low flow toilet get a Welington from Kohler. Under $150 from Home Depot. Don't use it for a shower though or your hair will never be the same.

The dorms @ Cleveland State University have private baths in each room (its a converted Holiday Inn), and they use those restrictors in the shower.

I just take off the head and pop them out - and do the same for my friends.

The house we just bought and moved into is all "low flow", but the guy we bought it from was an employee at American Standard...
One of our toilets is a "super sucker". I swear that thing could suck a bowling ball down.... and it's still low flow. It sounds like a cruise ship toilet (for those that have taken cruises) I swear it only takes 2 seconds to completely flush, and you can hear it a 1/4 mile away. One quick WOOSH! and thats it. :eek2:

He told us that toilet would be like $800+ to the public, but he got a deal on it because he was an employee and it has a small crack in a place that doesn't effect performance or comprimise leakage.

So I guess they DO make good low flow stuff... but it's expensive.
    :Do No:

I have seen at Lowe's a display for some new low flow that never plugs up. They have a demo of it flushing a whole bunch of these big long foam thing [aka turds] and golf balls down the toilet all at once. It was full of crap and it still flushed.

Of course i would like to really test one. Toss an apple core in the sucker and flush it down. It takes 2-3 days of work to get an apple cores to go all the way down. Don't as how I know.
