Great seeing you guys! Adrian Thanks so much for the only video of my car going down the track! First day out with my GS. I owned this car for 14 years but family obligations have allways kept it " on the back burner" so to speak. I have not drag raced since 1991. That run aginst the GMC Jimmy (blazer) was 12.501 at 111.53 mph with a 1.949 60 ft. Looks like I got treed but reaction times were allmost identical (.107 vs .135) The GMC had some wide slicks an ran 11.7 at 114mph. Traction issues (BFG drag radials) and vaccuum secondary carburator bog hurt my car off the line.

Very nice run Jim! It looks like you all had a great time. Hopefully I can make it next time around, my car is still in the shop.

Congrats Jim - thats AWESOME for the first time out in a lonnnnnng time.

I bet the christmas tree bug has bitten you hard and we'll see you at alot more events.

PS - when I used BFG Drag radials running similar times to you, I could never get my car to consistantly hook. Now with the Mickey Thompson's its ALOT better. This was quite a few years ago so if BFG changed the tire/compund since then and yours are new-ish it may not apply

Thanks Guys! I am thinking a double pumper Holly, and MT drag radials would help my 60 FT. therefore my ET. My BFG drag radials are old and were cheap. I hope to get back to Atco in March.

Especially for fast cars BFG Drag Radials are at their best when the tread is all but gone which at that point they aren't really streetable but are still good at the track. They can hook great at that point. However the MT Drag Radials hook up great from the first run.

Thanks guys! I have lots of room for improvement off the line. I am looking for a mechanical secondary Holly 850 or 950, to help elininate the bog off the line. I have a set of worn M.T. drag radials, I want to mount them on some light-weight wheels, and return to Atco Dragway in March.
