    The sports world lost the greatest winner in sports! Bill Russell died at 88 years old. R.I.P. No. 6

    Bill Russell certainly was a dominant player who changed the game forever. RIP.

    I remember watching him play at the old Boston Garden. He was even more impressive in person then on video. For the record - He was not the only great player on the Celtics team during that period, but he was the greatest of them all. RIP big guy.

    Thats sad RIP Bill..
    Eerie, I was watching game 6 of the 1981 NBA finals where the Celtics won just last week..
    He was the color commentator during the finals.

    The Celtics won something like 12 titles ‘57-‘69. Russell was a major reason for that.

    He played for 13 years and won 11 titles! Also, His team won 2 NCAA championships while he was in college.

    For the last two Celtics championship seasons he played in he was also the coach!
