Just tore off the timing cover on my '68 to degree the cam.

I thought that the timing chain seemed loose when I put it on - it was a brand new Moroso double roller that I bought from Summit or Northern Auto a few years ago. When I look at it now, it has a good 1/2" inch of movement back and forth, maybe more.

Is this normal for a high performance timing chain? I'm remembering that to be an excessive amount of slop from my experience of long ago.

What chain do you guys use? Tell me quick, I want to get the car back on the road ASAP -

I have an edelbrock, and I know you can buy new chains-sans the gears. I am sure Moroso is the same. It will probably be semi-cheap-but who knows how long it will take. Good luck

TA sells Rollmaster chains. Top of the line.
