    Hi all,

I just rebuilt the steering linkage of my 68 Riv (steering linkage and gearbox), but there is still a little looseness in it (comes from gearbox).

How much looseness is normal ??

The box is a bit worn

You can adjust some of the slop out. I hate driving with a sloppy gear box.

Are you sure it is all in the box? I just rebuilt our GSX front suspension and steering with 49K original. The idler arm alone had too much play in it and had to be replaced. Slop in all these junctions is magnified as it is transmitted to the feel in the wheel.

I have 1" side by side until the idler arm moves ?!? The linkage is all brand new.
The gearbox is a rebuilt one from A1 cardone.
