Am looking to get some sheet metal TIG & MIG welding done. Can anyone recommend a shop that does nice welding and can replicate factory spot welds? Am about eastern MA but would travel for the right shop and reasonable price.
I know of two in my area but have never dealt with them. They are pretty well known though. Welch Welding in Lowell, MA but may be on Chelmsford, MA. line. The other is Martel Welding in Tewksbury, MA. Maybe give them a call.
Thanks Dave. I tried calling both. Neither do auto sheetmetal type work anymore, but Martel indicated they may be able to do something for me if I cannot find someone else and can wait. I may just take them up on that. If anyone else knows of other options, please let me know.
Paintworks in Dover , NH Believe that is the location. I have had no dealings with them as I do my own welding, bodywork and painting , but I think other board members have used them....Jim
Paintworks is very good. I've been to his shop. He will do as little or as much as you want which is helpful when you are on a budget. Also he is a Buick guy with a nice GS. He has a cruise-in every week at his shop. Checkout his Facebook site.
I've used both Martel and Paintworks in the past. I used Martel about 20 years ago, so I don't know if it's the same workers now. I got good results from both companies.
I haven't followed up on this yet. I'll likely give Paintworks a call to see if they do metal work and to get an idea of what it would cost.
