    Hi all,
seen a movie a while back probably made in the late 70's or so I'd guess. There is a guy running from the police in the desert in a white Challenger pretty much the entire movie and he meets up with some kind of religious group in the desert for a breif time. Mostly all I can remember :Do No: . Any ideas??? Wanna buy it and check it out fully this time.

    Thanks guys,

    Gerald

Vanishing Point is my thinking too. What was the guys name Kowolski? In that movie a DJ kept talking to him over the radio..

If you find it on DVD or tape, make sure it's the original, they did a cheesey remake in the late 80's or 90's.

Thats what I thought it was called but can't find it anywhere. I can remember the part with him racing an old porsche I think it was bad ass. Any other good car movies I should check out while were on the topic that I have probably never seen??

It is indeed " Vanishing Point" . It was made in 1971 and starred Barry Newman as " Kowalski" ,Dean Jagger as the old prospector, and Cleavon Little as the blind DJ. They did a remake in the 90s ,but it wasn't nearly as good as the original!

I have ordered some really old stuff from them in the past and had no problems.
I just looked quickly and they do have Vanishing Point.
Just do a search by title.

I saw where Bullet (Steve McQueen) , Vanishing Point and another I did not recall were voted as having the greatest car scenes of all time. I presume they meant for the street as Gran Prix with James Garner set the standard for the track.

Just watched Bullet a few weeks ago. Great chase scene, the rest was a yawner. The Punisher had a good chase scene. I wonder what yearone paid for the front plate on the GTO?

Was'nt there a movie called "Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry" where they drove a Challenger or Charger and the very last line of the movie was "Nothin can stop us now!!" Except that freight train...

I have not seen that movie in years (20 maybe) but I remember it having some good car scenes...

    3shields Let's go, MOUNTAINEERS!!!

    Dmcl

Actually, DMCL had a 68/69 Charger in it. Early on they drove a 66 Impala to do the heist. That was Peter Fonda driving the charger.....

Clevon Little was the DJ in Vanishing Point, the original, not the Fox '90's remake.

If you want to see a really great car chase scene, rent the movie Ronan. It takes place in Europe and the good guys are driving an Audi A8. But it is an awsome chase scene.

I have Vanishing Point on DVD. It has a directors commentary that was just done a few years ago when the DVD came out... it's really cool to hear his perspective after 30 years...

Vanishing Point is a cult movie for the Mopar boys. I was told that at the end of the movie it was a Camaro they crashed into the bulldozer and not the Challenger. Anyone know if you can tell by watching the movie? :Do No:

It was a '67 or '68 Camaro that crashed into the bulldozer at the end of "Vanishing Point."

I think if you pause it in the right sport you can see the camaro in Vanishing Point. I've seen Vanishing Point, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry and Two Lane Black Top. The Band AudioSlave does a Video based on Two Lane Black Top.

It's a '67 camaro at the end that's loaded with dynamite.
