any one have a 400-455 pontiac short block or rebuildable engine FS? I have a 67 firebird 400 and am looking to put something between the fenders. It has a BBC in it now but this is frowned uppon, just like it would be if the car was a Buick you know! I am leaning toward a set of edelbrock heads so I don't need a whole motor but I will consider anything. an older 400 428 455 would be preferred. Close to OHIO would be nice Chris
I have a bare block; it is a casting number 9799914 and code YD. It's original usage would have been for a 1970 400 cubic inch application (non Ram Air III). It has a crack in the lifter valley area so nobody wants it but I am sure it could be repaired and would be fine. AND - (dont' laugh) I am going to be in Thompson, Ohio this weekend for the NSCA race, so I could bring it with me as I come. Total cost = free. :TU: Send me an email at keith.seymore@gm.com if you want more detail or would like to see some pictures. K
