I'm on a REALLY tight buget now after dumpping all of my money on my project car and this 455. I was planning to putting my stock exhaust manifols on temporaily untill I can save for headders because theirs still alot of stuff I NEED to order for the motor and car. But I really dont want to have to do the headders with the motor in the car I'd rather drop the motor in with the headders on, make sence dosent it? Poston sells them for $ 340.00 + shipping, so about $ 400.00,, DAMM:Dou:
Does anyone know of any other dealers that sell headders cheaper? Or have a pair new or used to sell? Thanks ~ VIN

I have a used pair of poston's headers, with 3in and 2.5in collectors.. About 5yrs old but still solid, with no holes. I don't think there is any rust either, just dings and dents from driving and fitting.

    $100 + shipping....

If you wany I'll even throw the 3in flomasters I have for $20..

    Let me know

Check out my thread in part for sale if you need anything else:TU:

Silverbird, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to install the engine with the headers already installed...sorry.

Usually, the best way is to lay the headers in the engine bay in their respective locations then drop the engine in. You may be able to attach the headers just before the engine is completely down.

thanks for the tip Adam. I plan to put tack the headders on the motor and drop it in and if it works then ill pull it back up and torque it or do like u said whatever is easyest.. i also heard that grinding the 4 pointy shipping TABs coming off both upper sides of the block is a good idea for headders. Easyier to install and change plugs. And it wont effect the structer of the block. Has anyone else heard of this or done this?

Not pretty, but no bad rust... If you take a wrench and tap them they give off a nice solid ring everywhere you hit...
