Hello everyone. I am building a q-jet for my truck and would like your thoughts as to what jets, rods, hanger etc. I should start with. It's not for my Buick but I trust the experience of you guys on here more than any other forum. The carb # is 17057253 which I think is from an Olds 403. The truck is my daily driver.
    Here are the stats:
1989 GMC Sierra 4x4 1500 long box reg cab, fresh 409" sbc (.040 over 400 small block), ProTopline Vortec style heads, Comp 275DEH cam (219/228 @.050, 275/277 advertised), 1.6 roller rockers, Edelbrock Performer intake (thinking of changing to Weind Stealth air gap style), 1 5/8 headers to single 3" exhaust with Flowmaster muffler. 32" tires (for now) stock convertor and 3.42 posi.

    Thank you for any thoughts!!

Nice carb, and a good choice for what you are doing. We stock everything required to set it up exactly for what you are doing, and know what parts to use, etc. I would also recomend upgrading it to an electric choke during the build.....Cliff
