Anyone know where the build sheet on a 71 GS stage 1 built in flint may be found on the car? I dont want to just start taking the car apart without and good spot to start! thanks.

    Matt,
1971 Flint car will have the buildsheets in only 3 places, taped directly to the top of the gas tank, stuffed up in the driverside front piller post, and every now and then under the front carpet.
    Good hunting.

    Hey Duane..

How about my '66 Riv from Flint. The car is gutted. Haven't dropped the tank though.

I don't know where flint buildsheets are found on Rivs, I am an A-body guy.

But, I have seen some flint riviera buildsheets and they are similar to the a-body cars.

    Louie,
It all depends on where your car was built.

Jason-the production order sheet for your '66 Riv (all are Flint)are generally found folded and taped under the dash by the headlight switch-found 2 like that-

I found the interior build sheets for my 72 Stage 1 4 speed car (built in Flint) under the drivers seat stuffed between the springs and the foam. Found another one under the back seat between the springs as well. The main built I never did find.

    Dwane Williams,
Those sheets are from Fisher body and were used to build the shell. You sometimes find them under the passenger seat, or stuffed behind the seat backs on bucket seats.

The other sheets with the engine/trans and other info were used by Buick or GMAD and are found in the locations I stated above. It's a shame the guys on the line "cleaned out our cars so well.

    Pillar post

Mine(70GS) was crammed into the pillar post. It has so much paint on it I can not really make much out about what it says.

    Louie,
Fremont cars often have their buildsheets on top of the gas tank, or under the rear shelf panel by the rear window. If you open the trunk and look up at the rear speaker holes in the steel panel, you may see the end of the sheet sticking out.
Your sheet will be different then the Flint buildsheets and should list all the info needed to restore your car.

Thank you I will look there tomorrow, the interior was taken apart today, and it was not found in any of the places mentioned before, just the rear deck and gas tank to look for it. Oh the I'll remove the rear of the seats too, just in case.

BigBlock68 Love that old car smell.

Does anyone know where the build sheet would be on a '68 GS built in Maryland?

I hope it wasn't on top of the gas tank, because the original owner had that replaced for some reason.

Checked in the spots you mentioned for a Fremont builded GS, with negative results. guess the only place left is to look above the gas tank.
