I need a z-bar frame bracket for a '68 GS. I bought an aftermarket one, but it didn't work. If anyone has one that came out of a Buick, let me know. Thanks.
I have about 4 zbars hanging around. Do you have a picture of what you need? I dont remember where they came from.
Here is a picture I posted in a thread about this. Mine is on the right and the correct one is on the left. Notice the difference in the angle of the upright flange. Thanks for looking for one. Tom
Tom, I guess I need to completely read your post. I thought you were looking for a z-bar. Are those big block and small block brackets or something else. I do have a frame bracket here somewhere, if you like I can take a look or you could just get one from the guy that makes them?
I am not aware of aware of anyone who makes them. I don't think Dave does. I bought the rest of his setup, but never saw or heard of him making this. Jeff, are you thinking of someone in particular? And if you don't mind taking a quick look to see if you have one, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Tom
Tom, I was talking about dave K. I just couldn't remember his name as I was typing that post. I will take a look, but if I remember correctly the one I have is the same as the one you already have. The one you need is a big block, or are they the same as the SBB?
I haven't seen anything that says they are different between big and small block. But I don't have a parts list, so I can't be sure. The one I have, which is aftermarket, seem to be the one everyone sells. I don't know how anyone can use it in a Buick. But if you find one that is like the other one in the photo, let me know. Thanks a lot for your help. Tom
Tom, I only have the style you dont need. I have one on my 4 speed car that I can copy if you cant find one.
Thanks. I may take you up on that. When I get to that point, I'll let you know. I may just have to mock one up and make it. Right now I'm working through a bellhousing alignment issue (see thread in U-shift em).
Well, Jeff came up with one for me. Thanks, Jeff. Now if I can get a bellhousing to fit, I can actually move forward.
