Looking for a 70 GS 455 or 455 Stage 1. Looking for number matching and in driver condition or one that would not take much to get it running. No major projects please and no restored ones, can't afford them and already have two projects to work on. Would be nice to have one to drive around.

    Any leads are appreciated. Thanks.

Would prefer with no A/C. Any color combos look good (my favorites are the browns, golds, creams, and silvers), just maybe not any green or black exteriors unless it has a white interior.

Is it Sherwood green? Does it have a vinyl top? Bucket or bench seat? Auto or 4spd?
    Thanks.

I have a nice 72 Stage auto Flame orange, black bucket car. Fully documented. Even came from your state. Where are you located in CA?

You should be able to find a nice GS455 for that, a stage 1 in that price range wouldn't be so nice. If you want to PM me your email address, I can forward leads to you that I come across that fit what your looking for.

I have been known to a find a car or two for v8 members from time to time. Including the orange one Mike mentioned above a few years ago I think. :>)

I'm located in Northern California, near Sacramento. I'm really set on the 1970 model. Know of any 70 Stage 1's?

Know of a few but you probably will have trouble scoring a 70 Stage car in your budget range.

How far am I off in my budget? What are the conditions of the cars?

    Thanks for your help.

Still looking but first I need to sell my Buick Regal Turbo T to help with payment.

Prefer a 70 model and at this point a Stage 1 (am I dreaming?). May consider a standard GS455 but with no A/C, different color between exterior/interior (i.e. no green on green), and bucket seats.

Did the GS models come with factory gauges as standard?

Gauges were an option. Tachometer was too.

Thank you for the information. How common was it for a GS to have gauges/tach? Was it fairly rare?

What about front disc brakes, were they standard on GS models in 1970?

No disc brakes became standard in the 71 model year. Even some stage 1 cars have drum brakes.

I've had three 1970 Stage 1 cars. Two had disk brakes, one had power drums. Two had gauges and tachometer, one had idiot lights and clock.
