One of the guys in my car club started taking his ebay find apart last night, and it became one of those stories we often hear about. The only good thing is the frame damage was easily visible through the holes in the floor. So, I am looking for a CLEAN 70 - 72 skylark convert for him. Needs to have a nice body. We have an interior and motor/trans out of this car, but would not rule out completed cars if they were nice. Could always use his parts to put one together, or just get rid of the project for a nice driver. 350 2 barrel cars are fine. Not worried about numbers matching, but don't want a car that has been hacked together either. Something stock or close to it. Max dollar is around $9000 for a complete car, less for a clean shell. If you guys can help make his Buick experience a better one next time around, I would really appreciate it. Thanks Tony

    72 Gs

I have a complete 72 GS 350 convertible that needs a good home.

Car is mostly complete. Aunt was first owner, never wrecked, still wearing ORIGINAL yellow paint and #s match.

Central TX car, so it has very little rust (a couple of holes about the size of a pencil in driver floor.)

I have all parts except for the front bumper (stolen). Also have the front clip and various other parts off of a 70 Skylark that goes with it.

Trying to get around $5000.00 OBO

    Tony,

Sorry for the delay with the pictures; it's been very hectic up here. They didn't turn out the best, but the car is still in winter storage and it was pretty dark and crowded in there. Our selling price would be $6,900 firm.

We've owned the car for about five years, and the odometer has 65k on it. I was told by the person I bought it from that the mileage is original, and I believe that is correct due to the good condition of the car, but I cannot guarantee it. It has the 350-4bbl and automatic on the column. I recently replaced the original carb with an Edelbrock, which really perked up the performance. This Skylark is not heavily optioned; power steering and power disc brakes are about it. I replaced the non-functioning AM radio with an AM/FM/cassette. It is red with a white bench seat interior and top. The car was originally tan in color, but one of the previous owners repainted it bright red. I have also replaced all of the brake lines with stainless steel lines, and it has like new white-letter tires. I have also replaced the radiator and hoses.

Being a Wisconsin car, there are some rust issues on the undercarraige. The previous owner replaced the trunk floor, but he didn't do a very good job and it should really be redone. I did find some small rust pinholes in the floorpan, but we've been living with it as the car never gets driven in the rain or snow. The good news is the frame appears very solid, and the body panels are good with no surface rust or holes anywhere. The paint looks really nice at a distance, but does have some flaws close up. The white top should be replaced, but we never drive it with the top up anyway so we have lived with it. The interior is pretty nice considering it is original, except for the door panels and handles that are somewhat ratty. The car runs and drives extremely smooth, and we have driven it all around south-east Wisconsin without any concerns.
