Jim When you say hood grille do you mean the piece in one of the nacelles or the front grille above the bumper? If you mean the former they are reproed. www.yearone.com as an example. You can buy the repros cheaper than redoing the used ones. If you mean the latter there are used, repros and NOS. There are pros and cons to each.
Jim, I have seen and have the parts place front grill. The parts I am looking for is in the nacelles area. Are these parts being reproduced?
I went out and looked at my 70 and I see it maybe 2x 3 set. I am looking for originals. perfure originals. Has Year One or whomever started the grill scoop piece, have they finished the complete assy. Once again would like a nice set of original that internal threads are not stripped and would make a concourse level.
Unless you find NOS the original grilles will not look as good as a good repro. The chrome work goes down hill over time and 36 years has past.
Thanks for the lead on the scoop grill from year one. I may go that direction. In this hood scoop assemble I am in need of part number 1231853 and 1231852. From reading the yearone website the part numbers above they do not have. This is the part that seats on the sheet metal of the hood scoop area.
I have bought the grille I posted a pic of from YO. I have never bought scoops there. Poston sells scoops I think but I am not a fan of the quality of their stuff.
