Hey guys, I have been searching for some time now on craigslist etc to try and find a good 1970 skylark project. Preferably something with good sheet metal etc. I know its hard to find but hopefully something with bucket seats and black or white interior thats in good shape. Preferably a complete car that I can throw a 455 in and drive it. I live in VANCOUVER CANADA so the car would have to be in the Northwest USA because shipping a car across a continent is expensive. I am looking for something decent around the 10,000 dollar range Anyway let me know if you have anything. I have found a 1970 455 that needs a home.
I am starting to see a pattern while looking for the ever elusive skylark - all the Eastern USA people seem to have the skylarks. The southern middle states have the 442's and the southern west states have the chevelles. Interesting how our cousins to the south distribute their cars..... I need a skylark...
I have a 1970 Skylark, 350 4bbl, bench seat, bamboo cream with brown vinyl top. The only rust in the car is on the drivers side under vinyl. I have not taken it back so I dont know how bad it is but you can see a little bubbling under the vinyl, Car has saddle brown interior, A/C, 4 wheel drum brakes, 15" buick wheels, custom stereo, GS grill, good chrome bumpers, crack in bench seat. I had the inner fender repaired on the passengers side under the battery tray. Replaced front half of inner fender and core support patch. The trunk had one small hole and was heavily pitted. I patch the hole and have painted the trunk. It is soild overall. Car appears to have had a repaint before I bought it in 2005. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=130559 $6800. At this price you could afford to put a buckets in the car and have it shipped to Canada. Just a thought.
I have 70 skylark that has been cloned to a yellow GSX. I am in the Dallas Texas area, but I'll take $5,000 for it. It has a 430 with dual quads that only has about 250 miles on it. Just built it in July. Too much to list. If interested send me a private message. Jamie
This is my other car. I traded off the Blue one, but kept the dual Quads. Several parts came from the other car. I traded it to a buddy, so we negotiated the extras. This car is a 70 Skylark that was cloned several years ago. Good to hear from you again. Did you ever get a car?
The car you need is in topeka kansas. GSDAVE has a 70 skylark with 37,xxx miles. It is a puss car. There is a thread about it. I have seen this car and it is unmolested and super nice. Allen
Here's the link to that car - looks like it's still on the market. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=139813
260189568468 Here is an ebay number of a 70 GS350 I had listed and is still for sale. Was very close to reserve.
That sure does look like a nice car thanks Allen. It is almost too nice. I would want to change the interior to black or white, and change the exterior colour. That sure does look like a nice car though. For a guy that wants a nice skylark, bad , I am pretty picky aren't I?If I could find one with not many sheet metal problems and an interior that needs to be redone for a good price that might be my best bet. I don't want to pay good money for a beautiful car like that and then spend more money to change it to how I would like it to look.
I did not think you were intersted in it. If you are, I am not trying to take a car from someone. I have had that happen to me and I was not all that excited about it. If you pass then I am interested to find out more about it. Mark
No worries Mark no worries. I am interested in the car, Jamie is going to get some pictures for me then we will go from there. Without a doubt there are some logistical problems with me being so far away from him. ASk for the info and if you like it purchase it, I hold no grudges, I do not have any right to be the only one interested in it. Blake.
Check out this 350 GS on racingjunk for $7500. I do not know the car just saw the add. http://www.racingjunk.com/post/1001704/1970-Buick-skylark-2-door-hardtop.html Mark
Thanks, that does look nice. It in eastern USA so too far for me. Every car I like and that is in price range is so far away from me. I might just have to save up my money and wait until one closer shows up. I have found a 1972 yellow skylark 15minutes from my house for $1000. It needs one lower quarter fixed and a little interior work other than that it is fine. I do not like the front end of the 72 but thats the only option so far. And I do not want to do all the work of putting in a 455 in this 72 skylark when I reallly want a 1970. So the dilemma begins, my head is spinning. I think I might buy this skylark and make it look like a 72 GSX and wait until I buy a 1970 skylark to put my 455 in. Thanks for all the help loooking guys, and for taking the time to show me what you had for sale. If anyonme has anything in NORTH WEST USA let me know when ever, I will be interested.
