There was a joke in high school about me where people would say when a nice looking girl walked by, they swore I could turn my head a full 180 degrees from any position. When a nice car went by, allegedly I could turn it 360 degrees. It wasn't a reputation I was ashamed of.
The Mach 1 and I got "cutest couple" in my high school yearbook I'll see if I can dig it out and post a pic.
What I like to see is after I’ve looked at it while walking away, I turn to see everyone ELSE looking at it. I just put the “yep, she’s all mine” look on my face and keep walking.
I was 25 years old in 87" when I bought my third Buick, a t-top Grand National. A girl at work that year said "Damn Jake, this car LOOKS like you". That has to be the best compliment I've ever received. Funny but I honestly found myself trying to be more mature so as not disgrace the car. True story.
Consider this a "LIKE" for all the posts!!!! Had a college student say "nice car" to me once when I was gassing up my DD a 91 Lincoln Mark VII. Asked him if he knew what it was and he immediately said a Mark VII, I was impressed. Mikey
I love Mark VIIs. Seen a few with 5 speed swaps, always thought what a great "sleeper" they'd be with a bunch of 5.0 Mustang parts on them. Cool looking too.
You can buy them for nothing. Paid $3800 for my 80K mile garage queen that belonged to an 75 year old couple. Older woman inDetroit was selling a 92 Black Special Edition with 60K miles for $5900. Mine looks showroom including the white leather interior and still has R-12 in the AC (doesn't leak). 18-19 city/24-26 hwy mpg. Too heavy to make fast with a 302, Tri-Star Motors will build me 408ci fully forged small block (complete long block) that makes 470hp/525tq for $5K delivered. It is the wifey's car so gonna stay with the auto tans after I build me 68 Skylark/GS. Mikey
About 12 years ago when I got the car and was still living at home, my dad and I had about 15 minutes in the morning where I didn’t need to leave for school and him for work yet, we would just stand in the bay window sipping our coffee and staring at the GS. My mom and sisters would just shake their heads. Now my three year old says goodnight to the “rumpa car” most nights cause she sees me always open the garage door just to sneak a peak.
