I need the round things that the lock stem passes through on the full door panels and the hood bumpers that mount in the fenders (4).

I ordered both but the ones I got are the clear ones that go in the metal part for the door panels that stop short like the GS and special interiors and then ordered the other kind but they are to big and are for the 68-72 door panels.

I also ordered the hood bumpers but they seem to big. Can somebody check these to see how thick they are for the 64-65 cars and maybe post a picture to make sure mine are incorrect.

I would be interested in any that are in really good condition as I have new door panels and a new paint job.

    Thanks

Hey Ed,I have a 4 door 65 parts car that is pretty stripped but I can look at the parts you are asking about and see what condition they are in and if they seem real good I will sure send them to you.I know these rubber stops and such are usually dried and cracked but its worth taking a look I guess...........Bruce.

Ed which hood bumpers are you talking about?? The tapered ones that are mounted on the inside of the fenders along the sides of the hood.

Or the round ones on the radiator support.

Hi Bruce let me know what you find.

I am talking about the tappered ones. I need to know the correct thickness because I was told they came thin and thick.

    Thanks

Ed the short answer is the ones I bought from Steele rubber are 3/8" thick, 3/4" wide and 1 1/4" high. Part # 70 2020-42 stated to be for the 1961-62 Buick , page 40 in catalog

The ones on my 65 were not tall enough in my mind and had been pushed down so many times without support on the bottom they had broken off. This is why I went with the taller version.

Even if they are too thick they can be rubbed on some fine sandpaper and brought down to size

I will be interested in what Bruce finds on his as I really don't know if mine were correct or not.

Next time your in Philly I'll meet you on South St. for Hoagies/Subs my treat.:TU:

The ones I have are the same size you have with 3/8 being the widest part of the taper. Maybe the fender to hood clearence is to tight on my car. I hope Bruce can find one to compare.

We will have to met for a steak or hogie in Philly. I should be there again around the Dover race this year.:beer
