Do the three rubber blocks that go between the body and the rear bumper shell go completely under the bumper top edge, or does the bumper sit in the groove evident in the cushions? My rear bumper is misadjusted, and I cannot tell for sure where the cushions should sit. Thanks, Rudy E

Cushions are completely under the bumper top edge.

There are only 2 cushions, not 3

Had me second guessing myself for a second. Went out to the shed, and my 72 does indeed have 3 rubber block style cushions. One is dead center at the lock area, and the other two line up with the inner edges of the trunk opening. Sure looks factory, as they are old and crusty like the rest of the car! So, they go under the top edge of the bumper shell. Thanks, Rudy E.

Well, must have been a Monday morning car because someone was definitely hung-over when the put the cushions on the car. I have disassembled well over a 100 Skylarks and never found one to have more than 2 isolators.

    Rick,
Someone stole your rear bumper and left burn-out marks on your garage floor! Hope you catch those crooks!

Thanks for the photo. My two outboard cushions are roughly in the same spots as yours. I have an extra one dead center that the last guy must have thrown on the car. What the hell, that would make up for the bumper bolts he left out! Always the rough edges on these driver level cars. Thanks again. Rudy E.
