Looking at buying one and want to be right, any suggestions? Simple and cheap, I don’t need a $100 one, it’ll rarely see use.

The go to has always been the Hurst roll control. Not sure the quality of it anymore. I'm sure you can find a vintage one on Ebay. They're all pretty simple devices. It's just a normally open solenoid that splices into the front brake line.

Have the Hurst unit... doesn't get used much these days, but works as it should when it should.

Or you can just buy a car that has it factory installed!:D

What’s the thread size for our brake lines? Most I see are 1/8 NPT?

I like above the master installation. The Hurst ones run about $180, there’s many choices under $60 and as much as I’m ever gonna use it more in the budget.

I have drum brakes does that change anything? And does the forward line feed the front brakes on the master cylinder?
I’m not with the car is why I’m asking so many questions.

When buying brake stuff I really wouldn’t buy anything used.

They do make a rebuild kit for the Hurst unit for about $50. It's just an onoff valve. Something to consider anyway.

I'll be getting one this year and read somewhere that the "Stock Appearing" guys mount it where the brake line runs along the frame, somewhere under the driver's side door.

How's that work as an advantage w/a 4-sp? Not as if you can load it like an auto w/o burning up the clutch.

For doing a good burn out and not pushing forward.

It was actually designed for a stick car because you have three pedals but only 2 legs lol. That why they call it a "roll control"

Where’s the best place to find reducer fittings, I need to go from 3/16 to 1/8 to go into the solenoid with the stock line and then from solenoid to master solenoid in reverse. Auto parts store or hardware store?

please tell me if I’m doing something wrong , I plan on taking the line from the master cylinder to the solenoid then from the solenoid back to the master cylinder basically splitting that line instead of going back and forth from the proportioning valve as you apparently did.?

This might be better…its the current reorganization due to the headers. I plugged one of the ports to the front brakes , ran the single line to the solenoid, then from solenoid to a Tee, then each line to front left, front right. All common 3/16 tees and a 3/16 inverted flare plug on the combo valve to block the one port.

That and also once you've staged at the starting line.

Watch how Grumpy uses it as "roll control" 5:40 into this clip:
