    itpphoto What just happened ?

I'm looking for some replacement sockets for both the front signals and the rear tail lights on my 65 Skylark. I know I'll have to take the front ones apart because the sockets are rusted out.

Anyhow, I tried finding some at the local parts store and the rear ones just did not fit right, slightly off in the moulding procedure. The ones for the front just looked crappy & cheap.

Any ideas on where to find some good ones?

    Thanks,

    Frank

i used the generic replacement sockets from autozone about 3 bux a pop...
same kinda of socket with 2 leads to splice in.. i used the plastic punch connectors...
the problem with the generic sockets is they are not conformed to the molds of the taillight assembly as well..
what i did was place the socket in the light and pulled the leads thru... spliced the leads and held the socket in plce with a no 2 pencil...
the tensiion from the bulb itself is what I had used to hold the socket into place.. works fine and its been over a year since i replaced them all....
gota becareful when you seat the bulb and make sure the socket isnt grounding out inside the molding... if the bulb or the socket grounds out the bulb won't light up... replaced all lamps using the plastic pop splices saves so much time.

its best to have a hand on either side when installing the bulb to push on the backside of the socket.. sometimes the socket can push right thru the molding. the spring inside the socket and the bublb placement will hold that thing in place for a very long time.
