Hello I have a 1969 buick 430 with a little lifter clack coming out of the passenger side. I can only here it at idle but when I put it to about 2,500rpm it goes away. They are brand new 455 lifters I put in with the 455 heads should I drive it a while and see if it goes away. the car runs great. That wierd noise was something that went away after I set the timing

    thanks, will

I have a similar noise. In the past, it would appear and disappear on it's own. I always thought it may be a lifter that was getting stuck in it's bore. I had it when I first started up the car last week after it's winter slumber. I have good oil pressure. I think I'm going to take that valve cover off and run the engine and see what I can see.

I took the valve cover off the side I thought was making the noise and ran it. All the rockers looked like they were moving pretty good I tried seeing when it made the sound if it was in sequence with one of the rockers moving, I couldnt tell
