    spacers

    Hey Guys,

I was just browsing "Buick Nailhead" on E bbay and there is a guy selling spacers for the stock manifold. Question?? Can the Injectors be installed in a horizontal position?? If that is possible, a guy could use those spacers to install injectors under the stock manifold and the rails too. Just a thought. What do you think??

Injectors can go in any position. That spacer idea might just do the trick. Can be made with injector bungs inboard. Hmmm.....

I'm thinking of finishing my tpi setup conversion for the 'nail with a set of those spacers (or my own). Ran out of funds.
The other tbi type I was working on was the vette dual injector crossfire onto a 2x4 intake, but I also ran slim on funds and sold the intake.

OK, in the picture, what is the distance between the top of the lifter cover and the bottom of the manifold? Anybody got one to measure? I have a nozzle or two, and can measure how big in diameter it is.

I'd bet there is room enough for the nozzles to angle right into adapters directly into the intake ports on the heads, and that wouldn't be bad at all, as the ports are angled farily good for doing the nozzles there.

Just might be do-able from the bottom, know it can be done from the top. One other thing, this, and all port nozzle and throttle body setups, LIKE single plane manifolds a lot better than dual plane designs, so what manifold to get?

    Offenhauser, 401/425 intakes:
    360 Equa-Flow, dual quad, p/n 5191, low riser type.
    360 Equa-Flow, dual quad, p/n 5692, high riser type
    360 Equa-Flow, tri-power, p/n 5190, low riser type

All these manifolds would work well for the port type EFI, when the correct nozzles are installed in the ports, and the throttle bodies can be made from sealing off all the passages in a pair of Carter or Rochester 4bbl bodies, or from three 2bbl Rochester small flange carbs, all with straight on linkage and a throttle position sensor on one end of one of the primary carb shafts.

The possibilities aren't so far off after all.

What about one of the Holley 950 Commander setups? Its pretty standalone with its own programable computer and sensor setups. I know its not hidden but what its atleast an off the shelf system that should bolt right onto all the nailhead manifolds. Has anyone tried this? They seem pretty commonplace and can be cheap on eBay.

    Thanks,
